More and more older people are discovering dance for themselves. No coincidence, as science proves them right: dance seems to be the ideal physical activity for the elderly as it combines cardiovascular exercise with strength, balance and agility.
The psychological benefits have also been documented: older dancers are less anxious and depressed, their self-esteem is strengthened, their quality of life, sleep and social inclusion are improved. This panacea can now be applied in various forms, from classical ballet or contemporary dance, into social dances on to the benefit that dance energy brings within a group. In any case, moving to music is a joyful experience that promotes vitality.
