Pulsating expressive elements, vigorous movements and the hot sound of drums are typical for Afro-Caribbean dance.
The Caribbean is a melting pot of three ethnicities - indigenous Indians, white colonists and former black African slaves. The origin of these 3 peoples, coming from 3 continents, America, Europe and Africa, has developed into a culture of its own right. This culture is accented by a wealth of rhythms that are supported by the music of drumming. The vividness of live music determines a vital, artistic and accessible dance for all to enjoy.
